Our Thoughts on the Bonavita BV1500TS

Ultimately we were searching for a way to serve customers samples at the farmers market. Batch brewers were out of the budget and pour over devices require a bit of attention which prevent us from focusing on interacting with customers.

So after a little searching around, the Bonavita BV1500TS seemed like an awesome option. It doesn't brew a ton, which is perfect for us. We swap out our offerings every 30 minutes or so at the markets so people get to try everything! The stainless steal lining does an incredible job of keeping the coffee hot. We've had coffee in the pot for ~45 that's still steaming.

Using these brewers at home, you can get two mugs full, so there's plenty to share. Or if you're an addict like us, you've got plenty to get your morning rolling!

For brewing, we're using 42g of coffee and 750g of water (Or right at the top mark on the water reservoir)

The nice showerhead!

One trick that helps create an even extraction is turning the filter housing while the brew takes place. We also give it a little swirl to insure a perfect extraction and nice looking bed once the water has passed through.

The brew is complete. (Roughly a 4 minute extraction)

Overall these machines are quite the bang for the buck. The wide showerhead is nice, but definitely has room for improvement with more even water distribution. The trick of spinning the filter housing while the extraction takes place seems to do the trick for us. The flavor we're getting paired with our coffees is great.

If you're looking for a quality machine for the house, you can't go wrong with these guys!
